The Story
Chen Chen plays a very spoiled rich girl who like a seagull flies from place to place. Alan Tang, a reporter from Taiwan, first encounters her on a small ferry boat in Hong Kong. She pretends she wants to commit suicide and he tries to help her. She then disappears.
Tang next encounters Chen Chen in Singapore where she is singing in a night club. They become very close romantically. Tang goes to back to Taiwan and is miserable when his letters to Chen Chen are returned unopened.
Tang next encounters Chen Chen on Taiwan when his sister brings her home along with some other college friends. Tang is attracted to Chen Chen even though she refuses to admit they had met before. Chen Chen continues to play games but is attracted to Tang as well. They have a huge fight when Tang finally confronts her. This makes Chen Chen furious and she runs off and marries another guy played by Patrick Tse Yin.
WARNING CONCLUSION: It turns out that the new husband is a fortune hunter and only married Chen Chen for her father's money. He runs around on her and treats her very badly. Tang becomes aware of the situation and goes to Chen Chen. The two become lovers. When Chen Chen's husband refuses to divorce her and Tang tries to convince her to run away with him. Chen Chen decides to fly away to the USA and resolve things. He husband meets a rich oil lady there and finally agrees to divorce Chen Chen. She then returns to Taiwan and Tang's waiting arms.
